About
Eight years. 500+ restorations. One studio in Los Angeles. This is Axiu's story.
My Story
I grew up around cars. Not the kind you see in showrooms — the kind people actually drive, love, and take care of. When a friend's BMW seat started cracking, I figured I'd try to fix it myself. That was 2016.
I had no formal training. I watched videos, bought materials, ruined a few test pieces, and eventually got it right. The satisfaction of restoring something that looked destroyed — that feeling never got old.
I moved to Los Angeles and turned that obsession into a business. Today I work on some of the finest cars in the city — Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Bentley. Every one gets the same attention I gave that first BMW.
I also teach now. Because I believe the best way to honor a craft is to pass it on.
Journey
A friend's BMW with cracked leather seats. No formal training — just curiosity, YouTube, and a lot of trial and error. The result wasn't perfect, but I was hooked.
Word spread through the LA car community. I started taking on Porsche and Mercedes owners who wanted real craftsmanship, not a quick fix.
Moved out of my garage and into a dedicated workshop in Los Angeles. Invested in professional-grade tools and materials sourced directly from European leather suppliers.
Students started asking if I could teach them. I said yes. First cohort was 8 people. Within a year, several had opened their own shops.
Crossed 500 completed restorations. Every single one done by hand, in-house. No outsourcing, no shortcuts.
What I Stand For
I never rush a job. Every restoration gets the time it needs — even if that means turning down more work.
If I can't fix it properly, I'll tell you. I'd rather lose a job than do work I'm not proud of.
Everything I know, I teach. No trade secrets, no gatekeeping. The craft grows when more people learn it well.
Los Angeles is my home. The car culture here is unlike anywhere else — and I'm proud to be part of it.
"A damaged seat, worked by your hands, can come back better than it was."
